Overview
HK-6540 Petroleum and oil colorimeter Products is a laboratory equipment that complies with the ASTM D1500 standard method for testing the color of ASTM petroleum products (ASTM Color Scale). The optical colorimeter covers a wide range of petroleum products such as lubricating oils, thermal oils, diesel oils and petroleum waxes. The experimenter tests different types of lubricants, kerosene, diesel and other petroleum products in the painting cylinder, then compares it with a colored piece of ordinary glass and determines the color by the corresponding color number.

Seibert color indicates the height of the liquid column measured against one of the three standard swatches when compared to the standard swatches observed through the sample liquid column.
The Seibert color code is as follows: -16 (deeper) ~ + 30 (lighter).
The liquid column height of the sample is adjusted according to the described method until the sample is much lighter than the standard palette.
Whether the color is dark, suspicious, or identical, the cybaud color number corresponding to the height of the last liquid column in the sample is reported.
The color determination of petroleum products is mainly used in the oil production control process.
Since color is an important quality characteristic of petroleum products, it is also a product that users easily notice.
In some cases, the color can reflect the level of refinement of the product.
For oils whose color range is known, if they are outside this range, they may be contaminated.
