COD Meter or COD Reactor
COD Meter or COD Reactor
COD Meter or COD Reactor are laboratory equipment used to measure the chemical or oxygen demand of COD. COD meters are used as a general indicator of water quality and are an integral part of water quality management programs. In addition, COD meters are often used to estimate BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) that are directly related to each other.

Portable COD Meter or COD Reactor
1. The structure is compact, the reactor can react 4 samples at the same time. 2. Reactor sealed with micro return line to react without non-condensed water. 3. The reactor can adjust the heating temperature between 20-180℃ and includes a thermal fuse that prevents overheating. 4. The reactor can set the heating time from 0-120 minutes and automatically turn off the heating element with warning beep. 5. The reactor is equipped with a clear plastic protection shield to protect the operator, and each tube is pressure and heating tested.

Portable Cod Water Reactor
start heating
Press the “Start” button to start the heating process. The reactor will beep when the set temperature is reached. Then put the test tube into the heater block hole, the timer will start counting down the setting time. “Equilibrium time” is shown on the display. After “Equilibrium time” becomes “0”. A beep will sound and the heating element will turn off. It means that the heating process is finished.

Features: Two heatsinks The Double Block Model reactor provides the operator with independent control of two temperatures and times. It can run two programs at the same time. It can react up to 16 samples at different temperatures and simultaneously. Dual operation, touch screen and key can be operated separately or the operation can be changed at any time. Easy to use, the reaction temperature can be set arbitrarily between 45-180, the meter has over-temperature alarm function, the reaction time in 0-120 minutes can be set arbitrarily, and the meter has signal words when the reaction is finished.

COD: In environmental chemistry, chemical oxygen demand (COD) is an indicative measure of the amount of oxygen that can be consumed by reactions in a measured solution. It is usually expressed as the mass of oxygen consumed over the volume of solution, which is milligrams per liter (mg/L) in SI units. A COD test can be used to easily measure the amount of organics in the water.
Phosphate is a chemical derivative of phosphoric acid. Phosphate ion (PO4) 3 − is an inorganic chemical, its conjugate base can form many different salts. In organic chemistry, a phosphate or organophosphate is an ester of phosphoric acid. Of the various phosphoric acids and phosphates, organic phosphates are important in biochemistry and biogeochemistry (and thus in ecology), and inorganic phosphates are extracted to obtain phosphorus for use in agriculture and industry. At high temperatures in the solid state, phosphates can condense to form pyrophosphates.
Ammonia nitrogen refers to nitrogen found in water in the form of free ammonia (NH3) and ammonium ions (NH4). The nitrogen content of animal organic compounds is generally higher than plant organic compounds. At the same time, nitrogen-containing organic matter found in human and animal feces is very unstable and easily decomposes into ammonia. Therefore, when the content of ammonia nitrogen in water increases, it refers to nitride in the form of ammonia or ammonium ions.

Press the “Start” button to trigger the heating process. The reactor will beep after the set temperature is reached. Then put test tube into the heater block hole, the timer will start counting down the setting time. It shows “Balance time” on the screen. “Equilibrium time” then becomes “0”. A beep will sound and the heating element will turn off. It means that the heating process is finished.
Thermostats are devices that directly or indirectly control one or more heat and cold sources to maintain the desired temperature. To achieve this function, the thermostat must have a sensitive component and a transducer that measures the temperature change and produces the desired effect on the transducer. The transducer converts the action from the sensitive component to a function that can properly control the temperature changing device.
